In “The Universality of a Folktale”, the author points out that no matter where we are or what culture we are from, we share a common interest in story telling. Whether it be for the sake of entertainment, to teach a lesson, or to pass on a tradition, every culture has their way of sharing what they know through story telling. This is something I have experienced because my family comes from a different culture but I noticed that my parents have told me stories which are very similar to the ones I hear in school and elsewhere. Story-telling is a big part of history and will never die down whether it is in the form or a song, a novel, or an oral passage passed down through generations.
