“The Science of Sleep”

I found Susan Ince’s article “The Science of Sleep” to be very informative. In her article she describes the different cycles of sleep and what occurs during each cycle. It is interesting to learn what our body and brain does while we are sleeping. The author explains how the amount of needed sleep changes as we get older. As newborns we are expected to sleep for most of the day and then as children it may be seen as a problem if one sleeps too much during the day. As adolescences, it is recommended to get more hours of sleep than children, but with school and busy schedules it is hard to accomplish this. As adults and the later years, sleep becomes less. Sleep is very important to our health, and I feel that now-a-days it is very hard to get the right amount of sleep. Due to the competition in school and the work world, there is not enough time to sleep and do everything else in order to be successful.
